New brokerage service allows traders to buy and sell in between bid-ask spread

NEW -- Pioneer Trading Discount Brokerage has introduced a new service that allows individual investors to buy and sell NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ stocks in between the bid-ask spread through Instinet and SelectNet. Instinet and SelectNet are computer networks utilized by market makers, brokerage firms and institutions to effect securities transactions at prices in between the bid and ask, as displayed to the general public. These systems are often utilized to trade stocks before the markets open and after the markets close.

Pioneer Trading clients also have the option to direct listed orders to primary exchange floors in search of better executions.

Commissions are charged according to the location of execution. Straight market orders and limit orders (not entered into a computer network or sent to an exchange floor) are charged a flat $25 service fee, regardless of the number of shares bought or sold. Orders entered into SelectNet or Instinet are charged an additional fee.
