Institutional risk-management software analyzes
complex portfolios

NEW -- Optionomics has developed the Orion risk-management system. Orion is a new Windows-based client-server network to manage workstations used by brokers, traders and risk managers.

Orion is a fully integrated risk-management system that is designed to analyze portfolios of any complexity. Entire portfolios may be merged for risk analysis at any level. The system provides support for options trading and strategy development.

With Orion, the broker or trader can set up as many accounts as necessary. Accounts can be automatically downloaded from a back office system or input from scratch using Orion's strategy development tools. The system manager can follow the performance of individual traders or track risk company-wide. With the software's Value At Risk reports, clearing members and managers of large trading organizations can analyze hundreds of accounts in either a detailed or condensed format. These reports can help identify risk on an account or instrument level and will also highlight accounts that exceed user-defined risk parameters.

Brokers can use the system for developing strategies and options trading ideas by accessing the strategy development toolkit. The risk-reward profile for any market range can be shown graphically and reports can be generated that show the trades and risk profiles.

The Orion system was developed using CA-OpenRoad for universal system compatibility, allowing it to work in multiple workstation environments.
