Multimonitor capabilities aids efficiency

NEW -- Appian Graphics, a manufacturer and supplier of multimonitor graphics cards to financial market computer vendors, has been chosen as a provider of multimonitor display capabilities for Dell Computer Corporation's newly unveiled WorkStation 400. Appian Graphics has been manufacturing and shipping multimonitor display cards for five years, and now they are being offered by a leading computer manufacturer.

Multimonitor functionality enables users to create a more efficient computer workspace by organizing their applications side-by-side across two monitors rather than switching between individual windows on a single monitor. Users can view a number of data screens simultaneously to more easily compare and evaluate information.

Faster version of neural net software trains in 10 minutes

UPGRADE -- California Scientific Software has released a faster version of its BrainMaker Professional neural network software for Windows 95 and NT 4.0. The new 32-bit version is six times faster than the previous on a non-MMX Pentium computer. Networks that used to take an hour to train now take as little as 10 minutes.

No programming expertise is required to use BrainMaker Professional. The sample networks included show how to construct a variety of applications. BrainMaker's ability to interface with spreadsheet, database and word-processing programs make data preparation simple and familiar.

BrainMaker Professional/MMX costs $795. Current users of Professional v3.1 or v3.5 can upgrade for $99.
