REAL-TIME DATA OVER THE INTERNET

CBS MarketWatch launched CBS MarketWatch Live, a real-time financial news and data service, over the Internet. For about $79 per month, subscribers have access to a full range of information using portfolio, alert and charting software over an Internet link. Unlike Internet-based quote services, CBS MarketWatch Live is an active desktop system providing dynamically updated information without user intervention. CBS MarketWatch Live is a Windows-based product, giving the user control over quote display, layouts, sizes, fonts and colors.

CBS MarketWatch Live links directly to the backbone of the Internet, providing fast and reliable connections to the Internet for the user. The link eliminates the need for a special receiver or satellite dish, thus cutting much of the traditional upfront costs associated with full-service financial quote and news providers. It also allows the user to access market information on multiple computers.

Users download and subscribe to CBS MarketWatch Live via the CBS MarketWatch Web site. The software enables the user to set, track and value portfolios; receive price, volume, and news alerts; build continuously updating intraday charts and monitor trades on securities. A browser-based back link to a password-controlled Web site provides the user with access to a database of fundamental data, historical information, research and news.
