Velocity Trade launches private network for active traders

NEW -- Velocity Trade has launched FloorPass, an electronic trading service built on a dedicated, private network rather than the Internet. The service links traders directly to the trading pits of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade, and electronic exchanges.

Designed especially for active traders in the index futures markets, a FloorPass subscription provides all components needed for trading, including a customized, dedicated trade terminal; a real-time datafeed from eSignal; a live verbal feed from the S&P pit ("squawk"); and direct-to-pit order entry.

Velocity Trade's private network transmits information in less than two-tenths of a second with a highly reliable connection. Orders are transmitted directly from the trader's terminal to a body-mounted receiving monitor carried by an executing broker in the trading pit.

FloorPass subscribers connect via a direct dial-up connection available in 150 metropolitan areas across the US and Canada. Velocity Trade also has a trading room in Arlington, VA. FloorPass subscribers have direct access to all domestic futures index and financial markets, including the S&P 500, the S&P E-mini, the DJIA and Dow E-mini, the Nasdaq and Nasdaq E-mini, currencies, and bonds. World futures markets include the NIKKEI, LIFFE, MATIF, and the SIMEX.

Traderscoach.com launches Website for trading novices

FYI -- Traderscoach.com is a Website designed to help both new and novice traders improve their skills. Owned and operated by Bennett McDowell, an active trader who manages trading accounts, this site offers a service focusing on all aspects of trading. Bennett has studied with trader Bill Williams, Ph.D., and Justine Williams at Profitunity Trading Group.

Bennett started the service to explain trading ideas in language that everyone can understand, and the Internet offers a more interactive environment than what a cassette course alone can offer. The Website offers help with trading psychology for traders having difficulty with executing their trading signals, and helps traders explore what obstacles they may be encountering in their trading, whether their problems stem from the choice of system the trader is using or whether the trader's approach is compatible with his or her psychology.

The service offers a free half-hour phone consultation.

TraderBot launches new stock market analysis tool for real-time analysis

NEW -- TraderBot has launched a new stock market analysis tool for real-time analysis on real-time market data. TraderBot employs an Internet search engine technology, one specifically designed for financial markets, allowing investors to monitor and dissect the massive flow of real-time online investment information.

The TraderBot search engine scans every trade on every stock in real-time to instantly find stocks that match a user-defined set of criteria. For example, TraderBot can look for strong stocks that are potential candidates for technical breakouts as they approach or exceed 52-week highs or 50-day moving averages, while also exhibiting an upward spike in volume, a gap up in price at the opening of trading, or both.

QAS Releases PaperTrader 1.0 portfolio calculator for TC2000 users

NEW -- Technical analysis and software developer Quantum Analysis Systems has released PaperTrader 1.0. The software integrates with TC2000 to allow users to record trades, real or on paper, long or short, on the stocks in their WatchLists, displaying the value of each WatchList (portfolio) based on the most recent close price in the TeleChart data.

PaperTrader is delivered on CD-ROM, installed on a Windows PC with a recent version of the TeleChart software installed. The portfolio information is stored locally on the PC, making data entry quick and ensuring privacy. While many Internet-based portfolio trackers are available, a slow connection to the Internet can make using them frustrating, and some people worry about security and sharing their trading activity with potential hackers.

Because TC2000 allows users to create multiple WatchLists, PaperTrader users can set up as many portfolios as needed to track their trades and overall value of their trading activities. One portfolio could be the user's actual trading in the market, while others could represent paper-trading activity, where the user may try out new ideas and systems.

PaperTrader costs $39.95 plus $5 shipping and handling for US orders.
