Irrational Investor Behavior Used To Predict Stock Price Movements
A new understanding of why and how investors behave irrationally in their stock market investing is now being used to predict short-term future stock price movements. David Schimel, president of financial services company International Equity Trading Partners (IET), has created an algorithm that measures investor behavior in reaction to daily changes in stock prices. In addition, Schimel, who is also the president of TradingGains.com, is also offering a directional indicator of short-term stock price movement.
The website provides daily relative performance rankings for more than 3,000 actively traded stocks. Based on a scale of 1 to 6, with “1” indicating a stock is likely to outperform the S&P 500 index over the next few days and a “6” indicating likely strong underperformance, relative performance rankings (RPR) indicate how individual stocks are likely to perform relative to the market over the short term.
Relative performance rankings are based on a proprietary mathematical model that measures behavioral force, the collective irrational responses of investors to changes in a stock's price. The website offers daily RPR on a subscription basis beginning at $35 per month.

Real-Time Scanning and Alert System
ATrade Investment Technology has announced Gr8Alert, a proprietary technical analysis and alert system designed for the active equities trader, a hardware- and software-intensive application broken into two distinct components. The server component is a number-crunching service accessed via TCP/IP using the client application. The server component contains the technical analysis models used to generate real-time data consisting of: 1) stock alerts, 2) classification of stock alerts as either long or short, and 3) timing signals. It uses a real-time datafeed.
The Gr8Alert client application runs on a trader's desktop. The client is used to retrieve remote alert data based upon the server's technical analysis. The combination of server hardware and technical analysis models alleviate the need to conduct exhaustive analysis before responding to short-term trading opportunities.
