Zap Presents Efficient Portfolio Generator, Seminar
Zap Futures has introduced Z-Port Efficient Portfolio Generator, which adapts modern portfolio theory to futures trading systems. Z-Port analyzes historical performance (returns), risks (standard deviation of returns), and correlation coefficients (how investments move together over time) to obtain a statistically valid "efficient portfolio" and projects expected risks and returns. In addition, Zap Futures is presenting a spring online seminar series, "Trade with Es." TradeStation Closer To Self-Clearing Equities Trades
TradeStation Securities announced it is moving closer to commencing self-clearing equities trades for its active trader client base, already having already established a banking relationship with JP Morgan Chase for settlement and clearing operations. In other news, TradeStation Securities said it received membership approval for the International Securities Exchange (ISE), which will allow it to directly trade options on the exchange. ISE is one of five major options exchanges in the US.

REFCO Introduces A Discounted Direct Trading Platform
REFCO has introduced VelocitEtrader, a program that allows active traders of online mini stock index products (S&P, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq) the ability to trade direct from REFCO's electronic platforms, without broker assistance, for $4 a round turn. Market Datafeed Goes Live
CMS WebView PLC (CMS) and the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced that the exchange's new market datafeed has gone live. The datafeed provides CBOT customers with access to real-time information about the financial products traded, such as prices and volume. The datafeed is powered by CMS's suite of software, TDI, which collects, processes, and prepares for distribution real-time market information from data sources within the CBOT. CBOT Full Members Permitted To Sell CBOE Exercise Rights
The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) agreed to enable CBOT full members to unbundle and sell their CBOE exercise right privileges. The CBOE right, which was granted to CBOT full members when the CBOE was formed, allows a CBOT full member to become a CBOE member without purchasing a membership. The agreement will provide the CBOT full members with the ability to request the CBOT issue the privilege associated with their CBOT full membership. www.cbot.com, www.cboe.com
