Automatic Trading Strategies Search Software Is Released Avarin Systems has released StrataSearch, a technical analysis software package that searches for trading strategies automatically. The program runs in the background and has minimal effect on other programs operating simultaneously. Once StrataSearch has begun the search, users are free to go about their business and come back hours, days, or even weeks later to check the results. Users will still need to sort through the results and determine which strategies work best for them. [Editor's note: This product is reviewed this issue -- see page 87.]

Internet Invest's Software Relies On Advanced Technical Analysis Internet Invest announced the introduction of the Internet-based Investor's Coach (IC), a system that relies on a self-learning algorithm and other tools to help individuals invest in the stock market. Investors receive personalized trading advice and information with IC-Expert, which is customized to the investor's investment level and takes into account their individual risk profile and how much money has been invested.
IC-Expert, which deals with stocks only, took more than five years to develop and combines financial mathematics and probability calculus to create an expert-trading assistant that helps investors build and manage stock portfolios based on their risk tolerance. IC-Expert uses a stop-loss technique and directions on when to buy a specific number of shares of a stock and also suggests how many shares to buy.

Forex Trading Signals From GFT Global Forex Trading introduces The Trader's Guild, a new foreign exchange intraday and end-of-day signals delivery program. The Trader's Guild approach to trading the forex market is to trade frequently. This approach seeks to achieve a modest profit for traders by using controlled risk as opposed to looking for the big wins, which can also involve experiencing some substantial drawdowns. More frequent, smaller trades with sensible stops can involve less risk than fewer larger ones.
In other news, Global Forex Trading has opened a new office to further expand its sales operations. The new office, located at 233 South Wacker Dr., suite 5050, will add 35 licensed forex specialists by the end of 2004.
