Intercontinental Exchange Acquires NYBOT
IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) announced it had entered into a merger agreement to acquire the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT), the world's leading soft commodity exchange, for approximately $1 billion. The transaction will consist of 10.297 million shares of Ice common stock and $400 million in cash. ICE maintains and develops its technology, which has been tailored for commodity markets. www.theice.com
2007 CHARLES H. DOW AWARD
The Market Technicians Association (MTA) invites technical analysts to submit a paper for the 2007 Charles H. Dow Award for excellence and creativity in technical analysis. The last day to submit papers is Wednesday, February 28, 2007. The winner will be selected on or before May 1, 2007. The winning author will receive a cash prize of $2,000 and be invited to discuss the paper at a national MTA seminar or at a monthly meeting of an MTA regional chapter. The paper or a summary may be published in the MTA's Journal Of Technical Analysis, the MTA newsletter Technically Speaking, and the MTA website. Signal Debuts New Quote.com
eSignal announced the relaunch of its free financial website Quote.com, which it acquired from Lycos in spring 2006. The redesigned site is a web-based global financial portal that provides free access to delayed worldwide quotes, charts, and financial news covering major markets and more than 51 exchanges. Market coverage includes a range of global futures, options, and foreign exchange data. Schonfeld, Lightspeed to Merge Retail Trading Operations
Schonfeld Group and Lightspeed Holdings have agreed to merge retail trading operations into one of the largest companies dedicated to the professional trader. Schonfeld Group's retail trading entity will combine with Lightspeed Professional Trading, which acquired the active trading business of E*Trade Professional Trading and ETP Technologies from E*Trade Financial in July 2006. www.schonfeld.com

BrokersXpress Introduces Separately Managed Accounts
BrokersXpress, a subsidiary of optionsXpress Holdings, has added separately managed account (SMA) capabilities to its online brokerage platform. ISE Launches Enhanced Sentiment Data Tool
International Securities Exchange has launched ISEE Select, a customized sentiment data offering. Through an intuitive browser application, Isee Select enables subscribers to identify investor sentiment for individual securities or select industry sectors. ISEE Select is an enhancement of the ISEE Sentiment Index and enables subscribers to evaluate the market outlook by scanning the market for extreme sentiment values among ISE traded listings. NinjaTrader Partners with GAIN
Gain Capital Group and NinjaTrader have partnered to provide foreign exchange traders with automated trading services via NinjaTrader's platform. Gain Capital will provide real-time forex pricing and execution services for all forex trades carried out on the NinjaTrader platform. The NinjaTrader platform is available free of charge to professional users at Gain and to self-directed retail traders at Forex.com, the retail division of Gain Capital. Cantor Fitzgerald, DTN Agree on Distribution
Cantor Market Data announced a distribution agreement with DTN that will offer several Cantor Market Data products via DTN ProphetX for the commodity, energy, and financial futures trading markets. AOS Expands Real-Time Options Trading Capabilities
Online options broker AOS, Inc., has released its next generation of web-based trading to provide clients more information and control for setting up, executing, and managing stock and option orders. AOS' new Quick-Step Order Entry has minimized keystrokes and mouse-clicks required for setting up, validating, and placing trades.
