Downloadable Multitasking Program Is Upgraded

   ATC Analytics has announced the release of NexTrend 7.0, a downloadable multitasking program. The software, which starts at $9.95 a month with no hidden fees, is designed to provide market participants with the information and tools needed to make informed decisions. The software offers online stock quotes, scanning, real-time news, alarms, and history for domestic and international securities.

Quote.com 2.0 Offers Interactive Stock Charts, Redesigned Charts

  eSignal has launched Quote.com 2.0, an upgrade to its web-based global financial portal. Quote.com 2.0 has interactive stock charts, integrated chart studies, news, and export features. The portal now allows users to track multiple financial portfolios, customize watchlists, filter news, and set up mobile stock and fund alerts. Other sections of the website are dedicated to international financial quotes, market data, and business news.

In other news, eSignal said it upgraded and redesigned its LiveCharts product with more features. LiveCharts offers users Web 2.0 functionality via eSignal's social networking site and also links with the enhanced Quote.com. It runs on eSignal's data network, and is powered by PlusFeed data from Interactive Data Real-Time Services.

FX Solutions Is Acquired, Offers Web-Based Forex Platform

   Online forex broker FX Solutions has introduced GTS Web, a web-based forex trading platform that gives customers access to their Global Trading System account from a web-enabled computer with no software download or installation. GTS Web complements the firm's software-based GTS Pro forex trading platform.

In other news, NJ-based FX Solutions was recently acquired by UK-based City Index in an all-equity transaction.

FXCM's No Dealing Desk Adds A Bank, Tightens Spreads

   FXCM announced that it recently added another bank as a price provider to its No Dealing Desk trading platform and has tightened its spreads. Now seven global banks compete to provide pricing for FXCM's Trading Station, the company added.

PowerShares Expands ETF Portfolios, Lists New ETF

   PowerShares Capital Management said it had listed its Preferred Portfolio exchange traded fund (ETF) (PGX). Preferred securities represent the highest-yielding investment-grade securities in the market. Dividends on preferred securities must be paid before other dividends, making them potentially more predictable and reliable than common stock dividends, particularly for investors seeking a steady source of income.

In other news, PowerShares announced the addition of PowerShares India Portfolio ETF with trading since mid- to late February 2008 on the NYSE Arca. Unlike other ETFs, the PowerShares India Portfolio will provide direct and diversified exposure to India's growing marketplace by owning local equities.

Interactive Brokers gives Direct Access To Mexican & Spanish Trading Products

DJIA Changes Two Component Stocks

   Bank of America and Chevron have replaced Altria Group and Honeywell International in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, according to Dow Jones & Co. These are the first changes in the stock index since April 8, 2004. Altria, formerly Philip Morris Cos., has been in the industrial average since October 30, 1985. Honeywell is being dropped because it is the smallest of the industrials in terms of revenue and earnings.

Barcharts Is Introduced On ONYXR 2, Launches Newsletter

   Barchart.com announced that Rosenthal Collins Group (RCG) introduced a comprehensive package of Java-based interactive charts from Barchart on its RCG Onyx 2 trading platform. Eurex Futures On DJ STOXX Indexes Okayed For US Market

  The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has approved trading in additional Eurex products for the US market. The approval makes up the futures on the Dow Jones Stoxx Large 200 and Stoxx Small 200 as well as six Stoxx 600 sector indexes. These futures enable US customers to trade specific segments and sectors of the European stock universe represented by the DJ Stoxx 600.
