Nirvana Systems Releases VisualTrader 4.0

 VisualTrader 4.0 trading software from Nirvana Systems is now available. It introduces user-defined transforms that convert derivative financial information into three-dimensional shapes, rendering of indicators and formulas across more than 500 securities, direct brokerage connection, automatic stops management, support for futures and forex instruments, and a trading simulator, allowing a "rewinding" the market and simulating trading in either a real-time or accelerated view.

  TradeStation Releases Live Simulated Trading

 TradeStation Securities said it had released enhancements to its trading platform, including the introduction of TradeStation Simulator, which will enable clients to paper-trade in real-time stock, options, futures, and forex markets. With TradeStation Simulator, clients will now be able to automate or manually execute, on a simulated basis, their custom strategies in real-time trading of those markets. This release offers several other features and changes.

NASDAQ Unveils Market Activity Replay

 NASDAQ has launched NASDAQ Market Replay, a data tool that provides a NASDAQ-validated replay and analysis of the market. Market Replay allows users to view the order book, replay the market in simulated real time or at an accelerated/decelerated speed, and zoom in to view events at the millisecond level to see exactly what happened. It can be used by all market participants including retail investors.

In other news, NASDAQ said it had completed its combination with OMX AB, creating the world's largest exchange company, NASDAQ OMX Group. As part of the transaction, Nasdaq OMX also became a 33 1/3% shareholder in DIFX, Dubai's international financial exchange. Borse Dubai is a 19.9% shareholder of NASDAQ OMX.

Barchart Reveals New Real-Time Market Data Application

 Barchart.com has launched a new real-time market data web-based application. WebStation provides users with real-time quotes, charts, news, and analysis. It offers futures, equity, and foreign exchange market participants a web-based platform and market data front-end.

In other news, Barchart.com is offering a European markets--focused electronic newsletter produced on behalf of the Eurex. "Eurex-European Market Outlook" is a weekly e-newsletter.

CQG Connects Co-Located LIFFE Exchange Gateways

 CQG said it had connected its hosted order routing gateways to the LIFFE Connect trading system via NYSE Euronext. CQG also acquired space and exchange gateways in LIFFE's co-location facility, enabling them to offer hosted high-speed, close-proximity exchange access to their partner firms.

  Trading Technologies Adds New Universities

 Trading Technologies (TT) said 12 schools had joined TT's University Relations Program. The program donates its X_Trader derivatives trading software to universities and colleges for use in classrooms and laboratories. The schools have access to X_Trader components to learn and apply textbook theories in a simulated trading environment. TT connects to 20-plus global exchanges in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia/Pacific region, which allows students to work with a variety of markets and asset classes.

New Portal Set For Alternative Markets

 Zealous Trading Group has agreed to create the Flashpoint portal with Global Access Holdings to provide research and market data tools. BSG Traders Releases Market Timing System

 BSG Traders has announced the release of The Wizard, an investment decision and market timing system. The Wizard is based on the BSG algorithm that finds support and resistance. It provides exact entry and exit signals for all markets: stocks, ETFs, futures, and forex, identifies market trends with a proprietary trend indicator and selects strategies from a scanning tool. The system is a web-based system that requires no other datafeed and comes with a demo that is a copy of the full system.
