IRAQ STOCK EXCHANGE LAUNCHES ELECTRONIC TRADING SYSTEM

The Nasdaq Omx Group reported the launch of Iraq Stock Exchange’s (Isx) new trading and clearing system based on Nasdaq Omx technology. The launch marks a historical milestone, with Isx’s new exchange platform moving to electronic trading for the first time. Nasdaq Omx has provided equities trading and clearing technology to Isx’s system, implemented by prime contractor United Services and supported by US government funding

Fxcm Holdings has expanded its global footprint by opening an office in Dubai. Fxcm Dmcc is a broker member on the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange. Fxcm Dmcc will offer local 24/7 Arabic customer support, and local regulation by the Dmcc.

In other news, Fxcm has acquired US and international retail forex clients of i-Trade FX; i-Trade FX and other firms have decided to exit the US retail business because under Nfa rules, forex dealer members now require that retail forex trading services have a minimum of $20 million in firm capital. Fxcm has more than $100 million in firm capital.

AgriCharts, a division of Barchart.com, which provides website hosting, market data, and technology to agribusinesses, has launched a variety of enhancements to its commodity cash bid management system. The enhancements include real-time cash bid access for grain buyers and producers; synchronization of cash bids with third-party front and back-office applications; and, new cash bid display functionality, including cash bid charts and historical cash bid data download.

In other news, Barchart.com has agreed to a new relationship with TraderBytes, in which TraderBytes subscribers will have real-time market data for futures, stocks, forex, and indexes. Barchart and TraderBytes have implemented a web-based process for subscribers. A core feature of the service is a real-time market index datafeed package offered for $15 a month. Traders can subscribe to futures, stocks, and forex real-time data starting at $35 a month.
