WEB-BASED DAYTRADING SIMULATOR

A trading simulator specifically geared for the daytrading crowd is now available, Tradingsim.com announced. In the simulator, tick data is streamed through the web interface, allowing users to practice and fine-tune their daytrading skills through a historical market replay. The last five weeks of trading data for all Nasdaq symbols is stored so users can trade any symbol they want for any of those days. The application offers the time and sales information as well as the Level 1 info. The web-based app, which is free, requires no downloads. All the user has to do is create a free account to work through the simulator.

NASDAQ OMX APP ADDS SCANDINAVIAN STOCKS

The Nasdaq Omx Group said it has enhanced the Nasdaq Omx Portfolio Manager (QFolio) stock market application to include stock data from four Scandinavian markets (Stockholm, Helsinki, Copenhagen, and Iceland) as well as a currency converter for the following currencies: Usd (US dollar), Eur (euro), Sek (Swedish krona), Dkk (Danish krone), and Isk (Icelandic krona). The application is available from the Apple App Store. With this app, investors can use their iPhone or iPod touch devices to build a watchlist or a detailed portfolio of Scandinavian as well as US stocks. The app can track price performance in real time and view dynamic charts. It also provides access to StockTwits for US stocks.

The National Association of Active Investment Managers (Naaim) has called for papers for the 2010 Wagner Awards. Top prize for the second annual Wagner Awards for advances in active investment management is $10,000; those placing second and third also receive cash awards. The deadline is March 15, 2010.
