RUSSELL LAUNCHES SMALL-CAP ETFS

Russell Investments launched four small-cap investment discipline exchange traded funds (Etfs) on Nasdaq. Each is designed to provide investors with access to specific investment strategies that mirror the way equity managers tend to invest. The Etfs are based on corresponding Russell US small-cap investment discipline indexes, which were constructed to give focused exposure to investment approaches practiced by professional small-cap equity managers. These Etfs are Russell Small Cap Aggressive Growth, Russell Small Cap Consistent Growth, Russell Small Cap Low P/E, and the Russell Small Cap Contrarian. Russell offers 21 Etfs in the US and two in Australia.

Continuum, a division of Cqg, Inc., has signed an agreement with Interactive Data Desktop Solutions to provide a trade execution interface for the FutureSource Workstation platform. The interface allows orders to be placed from within the application. Continuum provides integrated solutions to clients using its Api products, infrastructure resources, and trade routing and market data connectivity. Orders are sent through the Api to Cqg Trader for execution via Continuum’s hosted exchange gateways. Traders can execute strategies on more than 40 exchanges worldwide. Continuum will also power order routing in the eSignal platform via Fix Connect.

In other news, Cqg continued its expansion in Asia-Pacific with the introduction of its hosted connectivity to the Hong Kong Futures Exchange (Hkfe), together with several new partnerships in the region. Through Cqg’s hosted direct market access, traders can now route orders to Hkfe via Cqg Trader or Integrated Client. Major contracts listed on Hkfe include futures on the Hang Seng and H-Shares Indexes. Cqg is also developing Fcm partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region; new partnerships include Dmg & Partners Securities Pte. Ltd. and Boc International. Cqg is also finalizing an agreement with Admis Singapore Pte. Ltd. and others, to provide their traders with access to Cqg.

Hcmi has released Hft Alert, real-time software designed to detect high-frequency and algorithmic trading systems. Hft Alert identifies when these trading systems are running and what stocks are being affected. New target weightings for the Dow Jones-Ubs Commodity Index and the Brent futures contract were added to the index’s crude oil component. The changes, effective January 2012, were approved by the Dow Jones-Ubs Commodity Index supervisory committee, which cited several factors for adding the Brent futures contract for the crude oil component of the index.
