MORNINGSTAR LAUNCHES APP FOR IPAD
Morningstar has launched a Morningstar StockInvestor app for the iPad. This version of its newsletter for equity investors is available from the App Store. Morningstar StockInvestor features recommendations and market insights, focused on companies with established competitive advantages trading at a discount. The app connects the publication’s actionable investment strategies to current stock data and selected analyst reports. Readers can simply tap a stock name or symbol anywhere in the app to pull up the stock’s latest research data to support an investing decision. The StockInvestor app for iPad is free. Current subscribers can access the iPad edition for free. Non–newsletter subscribers can get a 30-day free trial, then $9.99 a month.

INVESCO POWERSHARES TO LIST S&P 500 ETF
Invesco PowerShares Capital Management announced the listing of the PowerShares S&P 500 Downside Hedged Portfolio (PHDG) on the NYSE Arca. The new exchange traded fund (ETF) will be a liquid alternative solution providing investors with broad US equity market exposure with a downside hedge by dynamically allocating to VIX futures and cash, depending on market volatility trends. PHDG will have an expense ratio of 0.39%.

American Century Investments recently enhanced its website. The website offers individual investors information and tools that provide an opportunity to explore and compare American Century Investments’ different fund-of-funds asset allocation investment options, the Livestrong Portfolios and One Choice Portfolios. The site’s “Find it Fast” option gives clients an opportunity to visit new areas more quickly.

TRADESTATION LAUNCHES TECHNICAL BLOG
TradeStation has announced its new technical analysis and trading blog, a new online resource designed to keep traders up to date with market trends and action. The blog is updated daily on the TradeStation website and features commentary and analysis from leading independent traders.

STRATEGIC ALLIANCE ANNOUNCED
SS&C Technologies Holdings and Abacus Group announced a strategic alliance to provide investment firms hosting their platforms on the AbacusFLEX private cloud with a turnkey global FIX connectivity service that integrates with their existing systems and functionality. Abacus and SS&C offer Abacus clients a robust FIX service and access to a trading community with more than 350 brokers worldwide. SS&C’s FIXLink service supports multiple asset classes and is precertified with more than 30 trading platforms.

BOLSA ELECTRONICA NOW POWERED BY NASDAQ OMX
NASDAQ OMX Group and Bolsa Electronica de Chile have launched NASDAQ OMX’s X-stream trading platform, providing BEC with trading technology and strengthening their alliance for product development and global visibility. BEC and its members will benefit from enhancements in performance, latency, and throughput capacity by upgrading to NASDAQ OMX’s exchange technology. As part of the alliance, NASDAQ OMX is cooperating with BEC on their efforts to cross-list shares, develop new indexes, and expand existing indexes. NASDAQ OMX is providing global visibility resources to BEC.

CHAIKIN ANALYTICS FOR iPAD

JURIK TOOLS FOR NINJATRADER
Jurik Research announced that it had released a new suite of technical indicators for NinjaTrader. The new code includes advanced graphics for complex information display, well-organized open code for users to read, and real-time signaling through dynamic color. Tools for 32-bit NinjaTrader were released December 2012 and will be released for 64-bit NinjaTrader in March 2013.
