The largest financial market in the world is opening up to investors
who have had little or no competitive access to it. The global foreign
exchange market, once dominated by major banks, has grown into a nearly
$2 trillion per day vehicle involving thousands of players.
The recently founded ZanerFX, a Chicago-based foreign exchange brokerage, is bringing the Internet's speed and convenience to traders who have been poorly represented in the fast-paced world of foreign exchange trading. In developing the concept of ZanerFX, Jim Pugh, director of foreign exchange at ZanerFX, and ZanerFX president Matthew Zaner realized that customer account security was a gaping flaw at many of the new Internet trading firms. ZanerFX deals with only large, well-capitalized trading firms to ensure the best possible security for customers' funds. ZanerFX maintains a higher initial investment level than many of their competitors to help ensure those signing on are serious investors; however, the amount is much lower than the multimillion-dollar amounts usually required by private banking groups and investment houses. The minimum margin level on accounts at ZanerFX is 3% of the US dollar value of the position, a level that allows the investor a reasonable amount of leverage but far short of the 100 times leverage offered by other firms, again, to protect the customer. In addition, the service will connect the customer to a live person instead of to a computer-generated price to allow the customer to get more competitive prices. ZanerFX will also offer larger corporate accounts and professionally managed accounts in phase 2 of their development. A preview of the software investors use to place trades through ZanerX is available at the company's website. www.zanerfx.com |

TradeCast has released upgrades to its Elite and Revolution
direct-access trading systems. The upgrades include the ability to trade
options. The upgraded releases also contain other features, including new
research tools and more flexibility to customize the software.
Two new research tools have also been added to both the Elite and Revolution software: Comtex and flyonthewall.com. Comtex News Network is a full-service, business-to-business information mediator. Comtex gathers nearly 20,000 stories a day from more than 1,400 diverse global sources, which are then redistributed to the Internet, Wall Street, and corporate reseller markets. Flyonthewall.com provides real-time market information on US equities through a live newsfeed that includes information on Wall Street's recommendations, rumors, analyst meetings, syndicate, IPOs, conferences, and more. It simply reports significant information without the hype. The new 4.0 software can be downloaded from the TradeCast website.

Ward Systems Group has released Cluster Indicators that learn
to recognize profitable buy/sell signals. Cluster Indicators work in a
manner similar to how the human brain might classify the market based on
historical clusters of successful buy/sell signals.
Suppose you have two good indicators, and you make a scatterplot of
several months' worth of recent bars of these indicators. Now, suppose
the indicators are good, as defined by the fact that their patterns foretell
an uptrend or a downtrend in the price. The bars that precede an uptrend
look somewhat similar. Those that precede a downtrend look similar too.
In other words, the buy bars cluster together and the sell bars cluster
together. Cluster Indicators tell you how far the current bar is from the
cluster center of the recent "buy" bars or "sell" bars. The genetic algorithm
optimizer in NeuroShell Trader Pro or DayTrader Pro finds the cluster centers
that optimize the profit.

Trade Center has launched a new futures trading system analysis
report, SystemTrac. This detailed report allows investors who use a mathematical-
or software-driven futures trading system to compare dozens of systems
in a standardized manner.
Trade Center applied the same performance-reporting standards used by
mutual funds, investment advisors, and hedge funds to futures trading systems.
Since 1994, Trade Center has been evaluating and trading futures trading
systems and found a distinct gap in the industry when it came to unbiased
and consistent performance information for trading systems. Up to now,
each system vendor presented performance information in any format they
chose. With SystemTrac, an investor can compare performance statistics,
side by side, in one easy-to-follow report.

Custom Trading Solutions offers custom tools for use in CQG
for Windows, including the turning point oscillator -- a very low-lag momentum
indicator with smoothing characteristics. It comes with eight logical conditions
that can be used for alerts and bar coloring. Pivot points for CQG allows
users to see the intraday support and resistance levels that floor traders
use.
The three major algorithms for calculating the daily pivot are included.
CycleTools for CQG is a comprehensive set of indicators partly based on
the work of John Ehlers. It includes indicators for measuring the dominant
cycle of the market, the instantaneous trendline, and the cosine indicator.
All custom trading solutions products are provided on a timed-license basis,
and include free support for the duration of the license.
