optionsXpress offers a series of technology upgrades to its proprietary streaming charts.
Upgrades, free to optionsXpress customers, include a customizable grid view allowing traders to see a variety of charts simultaneously, then save and reload charts for use during future sessions. Traders can use tab or grid views to alternate between multiple full-sized charts. Traders can display recent earnings information with details on their charts.
The integration of the charts into the optionsXpress platform allows customers to launch an entire watchlist or positions into the grid or tab view with a single click. It allows customers to trade multiple asset classes from one platform and one account.
BACK TO LISTTradeStation 9.0 will allow customers and developers to automate and test strategies in the equities, options, futures, and forex markets, the company said. Version 9.0 offers improved icons, enhanced graphics and colors, and allows users to create an optimal workspace. The company expects to continue to build and release new tools with the goal of a full release of TradeStation 9.0 early in the first quarter of 2011.
BACK TO LISTThe EquityTrader.com website has been relaunched utilizing the latest web technologies, the company said. The new site offers equities charts with interactive and customizable features to clarify and simplify traders’ investment decisions.
EquityTrader, which was designed by John Bollinger, has a unique feature, a 54-rule fuzzy logic model that evaluates stocks in two dimensions: how they have performed in the past and how they are expected to perform in the current market.
BACK TO LISTPatsystems announced an agreement with Interactive Data 7ticks for the delivery of connectivity services for its new Patsystems XConnect hub in Chicago.
Interactive Data will provide Patsystems with ultra low-latency networking services, facilitating connectivity to multiple exchanges from the Interactive Data 7ticks data center.
By working with Interactive Data for exchange connectivity, Patsystems gains economies of scale, which may be utilized by customers of XConnect. Xconnect’s hub in Chicago will offer connectivity to most major derivatives markets.
In other news, the Mercado a Término de Buenos Aires (Matba) has selected Patsystems as its key technology provider in preparing to add electronic trading capability to its existing open outcry operations. Matba is a futures and options commodity exchange specializing in wheat, corn and soy. Patsystems will provide a complete exchange system that includes straight through processing and matching supported by Patsystems’ Matching Engine. Matba will also utilize Patsystems’ pretrade risk management module and front-end trading application, J-Trader.
BACK TO LISTInteractive Data Mobile, a companion offering to the Interactive Data suite of desktop and web-based solutions for financial professionals, has been released.
The application uses the latest technology, delivers streaming financial data and tools. It is available on Apple’s iPhone through Apple’s iTunes App Store. Interactive Data Mobile, formerly known as QuoTrek, gives financial professionals and traders access to real-time streaming data on their mobile devices anytime and anywhere and can be used in conjunction with Interactive Data’s desktop and web-based products.
Users can create their own portfolios to obtain detailed data on an issue, view charts, follow markets or stocks, and monitor the market. It is also available for the BlackBerry and other mobile devices. Two versions are available for the iPhone: a free delayed version and a paid real-time version.

Cqg announced Chicago-based Continuum, a new enterprise solutions business division. The Continuum suite includes: Continuum Connect, Development Library, Fix Connect, Fix/Fast Direct, and an Historic Data Hub. Continuum has recently partnered with several major organizations to provide customized solutions for their platforms. Cqg also said it had partnered with Advfn to provide global order routing connectivity to offer trade execution functionality to Advfn’s client base. Advfn customers can now connect to Cqg’s global infrastructure using Continuum’s Fix Connect.
Advfn customers will be able to trade global markets though Cqg’s gateways. With a presence in Europe and North and South Americas, Advfn provides market data from exchanges worldwide. Firms can take advantage of Continuum’s Api offerings to realize low-latency order routing execution and real-time and historical market data delivery objectives.
In other news, Cqg said it had integrated its instrument codes into its Xymbology product, an identifier mapping service for exchange-traded futures and options contracts, for the futures and option market with Fow Tradedata. Cqg offers historical data integrated with graphics, technical analysis tools, and trade routing, serving individual and institutional traders worldwide. The Xymbology service builds Fow Tradedata’s portfolio of instrument identifiers used by Isvs and market data vendors by collaborating with key providers in the futures and options space. Cqg futures and options identifiers will be distributed through Xymbology to user firms.
Further, Cqg Integrated Client now provides the ability to create complex order strategies that combine automated spreading, aggregation, and synthetic icebergs. Traders can now initiate orders that take advantage of Cqg’s collocated order management servers to monitor multiple instruments across multiple exchanges. Traders can also place and modify exchange orders according to their preferences and market conditions.
And finally, Cqg announced that Edge Financial Technologies has joined its certified Api partner program. Edge Financial Technologies specializes in creating trading solutions for strategies including derivatives, foreign exchange, and equities. Their focus is on low-latency performance and reliability, and the firm builds applications for traders seeking tools for automated trading, market analysis, and risk management. Their services extend beyond custom software development to system architecture, management, and QA/testing.

Sentient Trader has interpreted and developed the cyclic theories of JM Hurst into a modern computer trading system, the company said. The Hurst Trading System captures all the theories published by Hurst in his book, Profit Magic Of Stock Transaction Timing, and in the more complex theories in his course (available from Traders Press).
Sentient Trader added it had refined the theories with innovations designed to improve performance for traders specializing in technical analysis.

Nanostart AG, a Frankfurt-based nanotechnology investment company, has started trading in the US via American Depositary Receipts (Adrs) on the Otcqx electronic trading system. Nanostart Adrs, which trade under Nasry, can now be traded like any other US security during US market hours, with pricing and settlement in US dollars and with normal custody in US brokerage accounts. The Adr program does not constitute an offering of shares by Nanostart AG, nor may these Adrs be offered publicly in Germany.
BACK TO LISTSunGard has launched an ultra low-latency direct market access (Dma) service for pan-European equity markets through its European broker-dealer, Valdi Execution Services. Valdi addresses the ultra low-latency requirements of high-velocity traders, providing a broker-managed solution that includes clearing and settlement.
The demand for ultra low-latency market access continues to grow. Initially, the new Dma offering will connect to the Bats and Chi-X Mtfs and then extend its connectivity to Turquoise and the London Stock Exchange.
Pan-European market access will also be offered following the initial deployment.
