TRADESTATION LAUNCHES NEW RETAIL FOREX OFFERING

TradeStation Group has launched a Cftc-registered, Nfa-member retail foreign exchange dealer (Rfed), a state-of-the-art retail forex offering. TradeStation Forex will operate the company’s forex business for all customer accounts. Features include a new screen interface for traders, integrated with the TradeStation platform, the ability to design, backtest, optimize, and automate custom-designed and third-party forex trading strategies and ideas, a forex market depth window, and others.

Dow Jones Indexes announced the Dow Jones Global Commodity Equity 100 Index, the flagship of a new index series that measures the stock performance of companies engaged in the exploration or production of both scarce and renewable commodities. Commodity sectors represented include agriculture, energy, metals, precious metals, and water. The series includes four subindexes: Dow Jones Global Equity Agriculture Index, Dow Jones Global Equity Energy Index, Dow Jones Global Equity Scarcity Index, and the Dow Jones Islamic Market Global Equity Commodity Index.

In other news, Fxcm Inc. collaborated with Dow Jones Indexes to develop the Dow Jones Fxcm Dollar Index. The index will offer traders the opportunity to track the US dollar while providing the advantages of trading on spreads, trade on margin, earn interest daily, and access the index 24 hours a day, five days a week. The index compares the US dollar to four of the most liquid currencies: the euro, British pound, Australian dollar, and the yen. Traders can trade the Dow Jones Fxcm Dollar Index Basket by opening a demo account with Fxcm.com.

CHAIKIN POWER TOOLS IS UPDATED; WIDGET ANNOUNCED

The Chaikin Power Tools free iPhone app for traders has been updated, Chaikin Stock Research said. Version 1.2 features the addition of option trading through optionsXpress; a “Modify order” button to cancel and replace open orders; and improved speed and clarity of the “Orders” display. Chaikin Power Tools is available through Apple’s App Store. The Chaikin Power Gauge model, which is updated daily, and includes real-time news sentiment analysis.

Chaikin Stock Research has also announced the Chaikin Power Tools for Desktop. The free desktop widget brings the core functionality of the iPhone app to the desktop. The small-footprint widget can create an updating watchlist of stocks, and with one click can immediately access intraday and historical charts, fundamental data, Chaikin Power Gauge ratings, and live trading. The widget runs on Mac OS X or Windows and can be downloaded from the Chaikin Power Tools website.
