NEW VERSION OF REAL-TICK

Townsend Analytics, a provider of real-time financial and trading software, has released RealTick 7.1. The trading system upgrade further integrates advanced order-management systems into its core platform and offers a host of new trading tools.

With the increasing amount of money flowing over the Internet through electronic trading, the security of Internet transactions is a growing need. In response to that need, RealTick 7.1 provides encryption for direct-access orders. RealTick's encryption system secures orders from the time they're placed until they reach Townsend Analytics' network of trade servers, whether the order originates from an institution, a broker/dealer, or an individual. Each order is also sealed with a digital signature to authenticate its source.

Among new features tailored to institutional investors, RealTick 7.1 enables indications of interest (IOIs) -- which are leads sent by the sell side to the buy side suggesting transactions -- to be sent electronically. IOIs appear directly on an investment manager's RealTick screen. The investment manager can then view and sort the IOIs to gauge market demand and execute a trade.

RealTick 7.1 also enables institutional traders to aggregate and distribute trades across multiple accounts, without having to place a phone call or fax at the end of the day to initiate allocation. RealTick 7.1 automates this process, thus reducing error and risk and saving traders time.

Another new feature is the NOW Order feature for traders who require speed over price. NOW Orders bypass Nasdaq's SelectNet system and route directly to the Archipelago book and a select group of NOW participants directly connected to Archipelago that include Instinet, Island, and RediBook.

Further, users of Townsend Analytics' technology can trade stocks on the nationwide Consolidated Quote System and participate in the Intermarket Trading System (ITS) through the Archipelago ECN. Townsend Analytics also offers direct access to European exchanges Eurex and Xetra, adding to existing links to the Milan Stock Exchange and the Swiss Stock Exchange.

PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN TRADERS SOFTWARE AND A-LIVE QUOTES

Traders Software and A-Live Quotes announced a partnership for their Realtimefutures.com Live S&P Futures Squawk Box product. All clients of Realtimefutures.com will receive a complimentary subscription to StockSignals.com. StockSignals publishes automated daily stock signals for more than 10,000 stocks and indexes, and authors a daily market timing commentary.

Realtimefutures.com broadcasts a live audio "squawk box" from the S&P futures pit in Chicago and provides information to traders that is not usually available in standard datafeeds, quotes, or charts. Ben Lichtenstein, a seven-year trading floor veteran, is the chief broadcaster or "quoter." Historically, the product was used primarily by large trading institutions and money managers to obtain an edge or insider information about happenings in the pit before the information reached the public. With Internet technology and inexpensive subscription prices, the Squawk Box has attracted active daytraders and other investors.
