New firm manages futures fund of funds

NEW -- Victor Sperandeo has formed Trader Vic Investments, a limited partnership to manage the Professional Cta Fund, a managed futures fund of funds. James J. Hayes, formerly a vice president at Morgan Stanley in New York, is managing director.

Managed futures have been used by investment management professionals for more than 20 years. According to the Chicago Board of Trade, nearly $21.1 billion was under management by trading advisors in 1995. According to Sperandeo, managed futures offer a hedge and have the potential to limit market risk.

Sperandeo was one of 33 traders profiled in Jack Schwager's two books, Market Wizards and The New Market Wizards. He was also featured in The Super Traders by Alan Rubenfeld.

System software is designed and trained for specific markets

NEW -- Lou Mendelsohn, president of Mendelsohn Enterprises, has released VantagePoint Intermarket Analysis software for five- and 10-year Treasury notes, the US dollar index and the Nikkei 225 stock index.

VantagePoint software was first introduced in 1991 with a 30-year Treasury bond system. Since then, Mendelsohn Enterprises has developed 21 different VantagePoint intermarket analysis systems covering major financial futures markets including interest rates, stock indices, currencies and energies.

VantagePoint predicts the next day's high and low. It also predicts the short-term trend direction of the market by forecasting moving averages for two and four days in the future. VantagePoint then implements a simple moving average crossover system that uses the forecasted moving averages to identify tops and bottoms in the market.

The price of the software for Ibm compatibles is $2,995 for the first market, with discounts on additional markets.

FIBONACCI WORKSHOP
Robert Krausz, developer of Fibonacci Trader software, will give a two-day workshop on Fibonacci and Gann trading methods in Ft. Lauderdale on November 17-18.

Day 1 of the workshop, of which the topic is multiple timeframe trading using Fibonacci tools, will cover three areas. First, Krausz will give the essentials of building a winning trading plan. Second, he will teach a relaxation technique developed especially for traders to aid in discipline and focus. Third, a trading plan will be presented based on Krausz's proprietary Fibonacci techniques for commodities and stocks.

The topic of the workshop's second day is Gann Zone Analysis for day trading, a proprietary technique based on research from John T. Jackson. This approach combines W.D. Gann's concepts with real-time computer techniques, using support and resistance to better define daily market closes. In the technique, statistical percentages are based on a 10-year backtest on all major US futures, with high-probability day trades as the goal.

Krausz will also teach a day-trading plan that combines Gann Zone Analysis with Fibonacci tools. Each attendee will receive a copy of probability tables for the Gann zones for all major US futures markets.

Admission is limited to 50 students each day. Informational brochure available.
